| "… necessity never establishes legitimacy; the world of necessity is
a world of weakness, a world that denies man. To say that a phenomenon
is necessary means… that it denies man: necessity is proof of its
power, not proof of its excellence. However, confronted by a necessity,
man must become aware of it, if he is to master it. As long as man
denies the inevitability of a phenomenon, as long as he avoids facing
up to it, he will go astray. He will delude himself, by submitting in
fact to 'necessity' while pretending that he is free 'in spite of it,'
and simply because he claims to be free. Only when he realizes his
delusion will he experience the beginning of freedom - in the act of
realization itself - be it only from the effort to stand back and look
squarely at the phenomenon and reduce it to raw fact." Propaganda - The Formation of Men's Attitudes, by Jacques Ellul

| "though in passing through these
difficult moments he had not once thought of seeking guidance in religion,
yet now, when his conclusion corresponded, as it seemed to him, with the
requirements of religion, this religious sanction to his decision gave him
complete satisfaction, and to some extent restored his peace of mind." -Anna Karenin, 323, Leo Tolstoy | | |
| It's really ludicrous; her object is doing good; she a Christian, yet she's
always angry; and she always has enemies, and always enemies in the name of
Christianity and doing good."

| I just had a ground breaking thought in my mind. So even though I generally just do quotes here is my thought. You know those Christian songs or anything where all people do is take secular songs and change the words to Christian words. Example are those goofy t-shirts that have brand names or apologetix or the main reason I thought of it was the song "I Like Big Bibles." So those things are kinda strange but anyways. A lot of different people will say why do I need to be a Christian I try to be a good person and do good things, I think I can get into heaven by just acting that way. If the secular things that are slightly altered to make them appear Christian really are Christian then I can think of few reasons everyone can't get into heaven. I mean if all that really needs to be changed to make things Christian is a few choice words I can't see God not letting people into heaven for having an altered vocabulary. Just a thought. Also I don't think either of these things are true. So there is my thought, enjoy tearing it up in your mind.

| "For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never
mention the Beatitudes. But, often with tears in their eyes, they
demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of
course that's Moses, not Jesus. I haven't heard one of them demand that
the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere.
